Civilian Complaint Procedures
The
Nassau County Police Department is committed to investigation
all complaints made against any of its members. A
Complaint may be made in person at any time and at
any Department location, or you may call or write.
A supervisor
will take the complaint and complete a Complaint Tracking
Form. You will receive a Complaint Information Card with
a Complaint Tracking Number.
Initially, you can expect to hear from an investigating
supervisor within two weeks from the filing of the complaint.
Upon the completion of the Complaint Tracking investigation,
you will be notified of the findings. If you have not been
contacted or need additional information, you may call
the Internal Affairs Unit at (516) 573-7120. If you do
call please have your Complaint Tracking Number.
